Registrations are now open for the "R&I for a Competitive Green Transition" conference, taking place on 23-24 June 2025 in Brussels and online.
The event will showcase solutions to make Europe more sustainable and competitive and will stimulate dialogue on how Research and Innovation can boost Europe’s economy and security while accelerating the green transition.
The full-day conference on 24 June provides a great opportunity to join policy makers, finance and business representatives from across Europe to discuss topics like green diplomacy, financing solutions, startups, and disinformation. The conference will be held on-site with space for 580 attendees, and a selection of sessions will also be streamed online and recorded.
On 23 June in the afternoon, the event will kick off with the opening of an exhibition showcasing 15 innovative projects funded by Horizon Europe and Horizon 2020. This part is on invitation only. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore these exhibits throughout the conference.
The exhibition will also highlight the results of the Partnership on Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA), the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE), and the Green Deal Support Office.
Ekaterina Zaharieva, European Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation will open the conference on 24 June. Marc Lemaître, Director-General for Research and Innovation, will also attend the event.
Among the distinguished speakers already confirmed are Leena Ylä-Mononen, Executive Director of the European Environment Agency (EEA); Angelo Riccaboni, Chair of the Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area; Marion Jansen, Director at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD); Gaëtane Suzenet, Managing Partner at the European Water Tech Accelerator; Sandrine Dixon Declève, from the Systems Transformation Hub; Nicolo Giacomuzzi-Moore, Executive Director of Circular Biobased Europe JU; and Francis X. Johnson (Senior Research Fellow at Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI)).
