The EU Cancer Mission aims to improve the lives of more than 3 million people by 2030, through prevention, cure and for those affected by cancer including their families, to live longer and better.
It promotes a new comprehensive approach to cancer prevention and control, by breaking barriers, by bringing innovative R&I approaches together with public health, ensuring commitment from EU Member States and communities at large.
There is increasing interest to expand the international dimension of the EU Cancer Mission, by promoting cooperation with countries, which have similar comprehensive strategies in place to improve cancer control.
Japan is implementing a comprehensive 10-year strategy to cancer control, which include R&I at its heart.
